Landunvez è un comune situato nel dipartimento del Finistère nella regione della Bretagna. Nel suo territorio sorge la Chapelle de Saint Samson. Secondo la tradizione, bastava sfregare la schiena contro la pietra di San Samson, un menhir di due metri di altezza, oggi scomparso, che sorgeva vicino alla cappella, e ciò era sufficiente per dare sollievo dai dolori reumatici. L'acqua della fontana era rinomata per la cura dei disturbi degli occhi e per favorire i bambini ad iniziare a camminare. Saint Samson, nativo del Galles, approdò vicino a Cancale (Ille-et-Vilaine) verso il 548 d.C. per portare il cristianesimo nella regione. Al suo arrivo in Armorique, guarì una donna di lebbra e sua figlia di pazzia. Per ringraziarlo, suo marito offrì un appezzamento di terreno sul quale si dice abbia stabilito il suo vescovado. Fu il primo vescovo di Dol (Ille-et-Vilaine), ma fu una figura così carismatica che gli furono dedicate numerose cappelle in tutta la Bretagna. (Fonte: cartello posto nei pressi della cappella).
