Sulle rive del Danubio, a Budapest, non lontano dal palazzo del Parlamento Ungherese, sono allineate sessanta paia di scarpe dall'aria vissuta, che ricordano la moda degli anni '40. Ci sono scarpe da donna, da uomo e da bambino, lasciate lì, vicino all'acqua, abbandonate in modo disordinato, come se i loro proprietari se le fossero appena tolte. Se si guarda più da vicino, si vede che le scarpe sono arrugginite, di ferro, e fissate nel calcestruzzo del molo.
