Other work that satisfies the eyes, with a remarkable detail and taste in the choice of the roost and the colors. Great Pier!

Dont know whether its due to artificial light, but seems like some detail in the whites is lost.

It seems that some detail in the whites is lost

measuring the highlights in the three channels I found as the maximum value 240 then still far from clipping. Probably what you are experiencing is not a loss of detail, but a flattening of the wing scales.
Thank you for visiting.

Some wing scales are not visible, especially in the white parts of the wings, that's what i see.

Maybe because of the language we do not understand, I thought I explained.... I try again.

don't think so, some of them are visible and some not in the same parts of the wings, especially on the lower wing, right under this black left dot. im not saying the picture is bad due to this, its quite fine, but there is something wrong with the light. white or partially white butterflies are quite hard to properly manage the light, its quite easy to overexposure some white parts here. i would also move the butterfly a little to the left to get better balance between left side which is currently empty and right side where not to much room is left from the edges of the wings. but its my personal taste.

Generally if you have overexposure burns with Photoshop you can read the brightness values in the various channels and as I told you those that I read are not greater than 240 then impossible to be burnt. As already mentioned what you see is a flattening of the scales. It would not make sense since there are no reflections that in some parts of the wing can be seen while disappearing in others. However I accept what you say otherwise the diatribe would go forward by remaining each on its own positions.

My point of view on photography is that you can always measure everything, but the most important is what the eye can see. The picture seems to be not burnt, but maybe whites are a little bit overexposed, i don't have a RAW image to be more precise, but maybe there is some detail you could see with additional post-processing which would show everything than can be shown. It's only speculation, you don't have agree, i just describe what i see, this is an essential discussion, nothing more. Have you tried not use flash, and use only the natural light? I think some your pictures could be better with no artificial light, softer and more natural.

I honestly don't see any leaks in whites, on my monitor (and eye) everything is perfect.
Knowing Pigi for a long time, moreover, I would be amazed at the opposite.
The shot is admirable, especially for the general balance (diffused light, contrast, colors...)

A great shot of course, then, Scaglietta si, Scaglietta no;
Sometimes the detail below is not there.
Congratulations Gandy

Beautiful and elegant butterfly composed and represented impeccably, in HD you can not miss it because it is a real show (in assessors and for personal taste I would have reduced the margin of space in front that I think abundant and left a little extra air over , but nothing of that) ;-); Congratulations Pier, other fantastic macro :-).
A Salutone, Claudio :-P
