Il Monviso è noto ai piemontesi come "Il Re di pietra", in quanto sovrano incontrastato del panorama della regione, visibile fin da Milano e oltre, con la sua inconfondibile forma piramidale che svetta di oltre 500 metri rispetto alle vette circostanti. In alta Valle po è possibile godere di magnifiche passeggiate d'alta quota al cospetto del Re di Pietra, per cui possiamo dire di essere stati ospiti sulla "terrazza del Re"!
