Castel dell'Alpi è una frazione di San Benedetto Val di Sambro (Bo) ed il suo attuale insediamento è sul versante destro del torrente Savena. Il laghetto si formò a seguito di una frana sul lato sinistro nel 1951 dove, dopo il crollo, è rimasta solo la vecchia Chiesa di San Biagio che ora è sconsacrata.
