There's a woman in the bakery watching me. I didn't realise until I'd taken and checked the shot and then looked up. I looked at her - and walked on - I knew she'd be in the shot, but she'd freak out if she thought I was taking taking creepy pictures of her at midnight!

Having used the circular fisheye for daylight shots, I took it out for some handheld night shots.

Given its fast f2.8 aperture, how good would it be, how sharp, the edges, the vignetting? How much work in editing would be needed to get an OK result?

Salisbury's medieval pedestrianised back streets are being dug up, hence the barriers.

After much PP, evening out the light levels, trying to make the colour casts less unpleasant, it seems that at f3.2 and focused at infinity, that the nearby window is out of focus. Lesson learned. As this lens is primarily designed for Canon DX cameras, where the crop factor is greater than on my Nikon, I always have to crop away one third anyway just to get the circular image to fill the square frame.

So, all images need an amount of extra sharpening - even at f8 and in daylight. So, at near maximum aperture, well, a lot more extra sharpening required - BUT - not to a degree that really shows up badly, so I am reasonably happy, though next time, I will use f3.5, a higher iso - and check for staff in shops watching me at midnight...

Particular image, also for the Fisheye vision, like a secret eye that looks at you, the big brother.
Good boy
