Il Caffè Margherita, quel tripudio liberty che ispira gli artisti. Sulla Passeggiata di Viareggio il gioiello del Novecento con le cupole a ghirigori create dal genio di Galileo Chini. Le cupole, a ghirigori, rammentano i palazzi imperiali del Siam. I saloni sono ricchi di fregi liberty, il "Gran Caffè Margherita", sulla Passeggiata di Viareggio aveva, fino a pochi anni fa, una statua di Giacomo Puccini. Adesso la statua è altrove ma restano le tracce di un passato celeberrimo sulle terrazze, sotto gli androni, nei corridoi alla Mariembad, sicché frotte di turisti muniti di iPad si fermano a ritrarre le vestigia di un Novecento che è già archeologia come i bagni Pancaldi a Livorno, il Kursaal a Montecatini, il caffè Di Simo a Lucca
