I last traveled along this narrow road in the days when I cycled, over ten years ago!

This delightful thatched cottage, with its white picket fence and even a river on its doorstep, with wonderful willow trees, seems to be an idyllic place to live.

The afternoon sunlight was already dipping below the bank behind it and the foreground was entirely in shadow. I did not use a graduated grey filter but the 29.5 mb RAW file was big enough to extract shadow detail from, though I had to do this carefully, in order for it to look realistic.

Within minutes, it clouded over, an hour later, drizzly rain, so ultimately, a disappointing walk this afternoon.
