ISO 1600, tripod.

Very beautiful, it expresses all the beauty of a splendid open cluster.

to review the processing, especially on the stars, you notice blue aberrations ... in addition to all the issues you encountered the image you look at .... and I agree with you, the guide serves, always !!! I would also lower iso, 1600 are too many to my liking, 800 are more than enough, you would avoid recording that thermal noise that annoys the background ;-)

Thanks Elio, this cluster is amazing and deserves a better picture

Thank you Vega for the tips, in fact the ISO always keep them at 800, value that the K5 holds very well, I had a quick test on a reflective nebula to see how the reflex behaves (very well, it had already captured it) and then I forgot to lower them: - |
As far as driving is concerned, I can not take the room, so I'm thinking of looking for a solution to be able to use the planetary camera we have as a partnership and never use (Imaging Source DMK in color).
The thing that worries me most is the axis of DEC which is very tough even with the fully clamped clutch, the AR axis moves with the right resistance but the DEC ... isthe same as with the CCD guide every now and then :-(

to adjust the axis of DEC there are two small bumps at the top of the bend, set to the north and south, the bundle should be 1 or 2 do not remember well, just give up slightly by making it 1/4 turn at a time, because you risk loosing it too much by creating a difficult backlash to regularize later ...

I agree with the advice of Vega, as a guide ... the DMK does not have the ST4 port, so I do not know how you can use it: - /. Lastly, does the ED80 not be a bit 'slim' for that subject? At a minimum it would take 1m of focus, better than 1.5. Anyway, congratulations for the commitment, everything is doing the bones ;-)

Thanks Renzo, for guidance, I would command mount through ASCOM EQMOD.
In fact, the 80 is a little short, though I liked the idea of ??having finest stars: -D what's prevented from seeing bad.
What else do you realize that with the field framed by the Pentax and due to the absence of the scavenger I have to make a strong crop on the final image to eliminate the "faulty"
Now I leave the driving priority, then the scavenger ;-)
