Per esempio a Pisa c'era tutto un gruppo di ricerca che studiava il comportamento dei protozoi semplicemente filmandoli e rivedendo i loro percorsi al rallentatore. La pubblicazione di questi dati e la loro interpretazione ha ottenuto riconoscimenti in tutto il mondo.
