Semi wild New Forest pony, yesterday early evening.
I was shooting wideangle pictures of the heather, which is perfect right now, with the 10-24mm lens, and four ponies walked very slowly past me, small in the frame, at quite a distance.
This one was some distance behind and so I presumed she too would walk slowly past me too. Then, with a whinny, she suddenly found herself quite a long way back from her group and suddenly broke into a run to join them.
I immediately switched lenses and fired off just four frames, using the exact same exposure settings as I had used at 10mm! This was the only frame to have the entirety of the pony, though I have had to crop quite a bit and sharpen her up too, due to the movement blur in the panning. The white spot on her forehead is her white marking, that is quite common on these animals.
