I'm not looking for lots of 'likes' for this but for some advice! Astrophotography is not a genre that I am really familiar with and this is my first attempt at star trails, taken last night around 03:15 UK time. I worked from the RAW file and adjusted exposure, etc - the original is very much darker. I know that the glow at the bottom is from light pollution but I do not understand why the whole image is covered in coloured dots. I used a low ISO to avoid noise and about a 15 minute exposure. I wonder whether any of my Juza friends feel able to offer some advice? Thanks! Grazie! Ann :))

Photography for you has no boundaries. Try all the roads. Maybe that's what I like about your style.

One of this picture is usually a result of a series of shoots: from 100 to 200 shootsf 30 "at the max open of the optic; continuous shooting ... take some dark frame (5 to 10) and unite all of them in one Picture using starstax (free on the web) is not easy to write here .. try to have a look at this:

petapixel.com/2013/03/18/how-to-photograph-star-trails-from-start-to-f
Or some other web site concerning startrail.
Taking only one picture is almost impossible to make a startrail: - /

The origin of the coloured dots, even at such low ISOs level, has a thermal nature and increases with temperature ( thermal or Johnson noise ). Two the long exposure, temperature of the sensor and other circuits increased the agitation of electrons in the conductive materials, leading to this kind of disturbs.
See you, Marco
