Ti spiego come è andata: era già buio, stavo già quasi andandomene dalla festa, quando alzando gli occhi mi sono ritrovato davanti questa coppia che aveva appena iniziato a baciarsi. Ho alzato la macchina e provato a scattare, senza guardare ne' ISO ne' diaframma. Ho imprecato tra me e me perché l'autofocus non riusciva a funzionare ed alla fine sono riuscito a scattare tre foto, di cui questa la prima è la più passabile mentre la seconda e la terza, bellissima, sono ahimè completamente mosse. Con questo episodio ho pagato la mia inesperienza nel digitale, tant'è che sabato voglio consultarmi con il mio negoziante di fiducia per vedere se sono io che non so usare la 6D o se in situazioni del genere (buio + rapidità operativa) occorre una macchina più performante tipo 5D.

Grazie per aver spiegato l'episodio che in effetti è anche piuttosto "simpatico". Più volte mi sono trovato in situazioni simili e col senno di poi ci rido sopra, fa parte del gioco.
Quello che ti posso consigliare in situazioni del genere, è che prima di chiedersi se l'apparecchio non ha le performance giuste, proviamo ad agire e pensare in modo differente, di modo che il nostro apparecchio "ci segui meglio" in quello che vogliamo fare.
Di sicuro la 6D non è un apparecchio "veloce", questo te lo posso garantire, e difatti non è consigliata per chi esegue foto sportive e d'azione. E una FF un po' "tonta" ma ha un sensore fenomenale come poche.
Vabbè ora dal suo esordio è passato anche un po' di tempo quindi qualcosa è cambiato, ma resta una delle migliori FF che io abbia mai avuto.
Quindi in situazioni così, richiede un po' più di "lavoro" e finezza da parte del fotografo.
Con le impostazioni che hai usato dubito che con la 6D avresti potuto ottenere di più...
Il 50ino è un ottimo obiettivo per fare street, ma richiede molta attenzione e parsimonia. A f1.8 è un casino riuscire ad essere veloci e precisi con la 6D...
Per questo motivo il mio consiglio è lavorare col 50ino in iperfocale (https://www.juzaphoto.com/topic2.php?l=it&t=12601&show=2) se stai facendo street e "rubando scatti" 
Una delle peculiarità della 6D è una bella resistenza agli ISO e una qualità del RAW ottima, per cui il rumore digitale anche recuperato non deturpa troppo il risultato.
E se poi sgrana troppo, valuta e usa la grana a tuo favore se caso.
Stringendo (in queste condizioni) , lavora semplice, lavora veloce con modalità semiautomatiche, alza gli ISO, imposta un diaframma più stretto, e con un 50ino valuta la messa a fuoco manuale e addirittura pre-impostata.
Se poi sei stufo della 6D e davvero non ti ci trovi allora valuta un altro apparecchio, ma la lascerei davvero come ultima scelta anche perchè onerosa.

Innanzi tutto complimenti per le tue foto. Ne ho guardate alcune (ma più tardi le guarderò tutte) e sono veramente notevoli.
Io amo fare soprattutto ritratti, ma quando capita faccio anche street. Domenica sera ero uscito per fare ritratti alla festa di Monteriggioni, armato di 50 e 135 mm. La 6D era impostata su One Shot e lettura con il punto centrale (poi ricompongo). Non pensavo e non ero mentalizzato per una foto di street, è stata una cosa improvvisa e anche l'emozione di ritrovarmi in una scena fotografica interessante ha contribuito a farmi cannare le due foto più interessanti.
Per quanto riguarda un altro corpo macchina, sono mesi che guardò la Sony a7II, sulla quale andrei a mettere i miei vecchi ma nuovi obiettivi Leica R, tra i quali uno splendido Summicron 35 f2 eccezionale per la street. Per ora restò in osservazione, anche perché si sta già parlando di un nuovo modello serie III. Staremo a vedere....
