Absolute total surprise to find this swathe of yellow gold this morning!

So tired from my 15km walk (with tripod!) that I need a little sleep now and I will be back on Juza a little later - good afternoon to everyone!

Ha! I knew this had to be yours, Tim! Gorgeous swathes of gold! Love the bands of colour and the puffy white clouds!

I photographed a field of reapeseed last Sunday (also a very unexpected find!) and meant to bring the image to Spain with me to post on Juza but forgot, so you got in first Sorriso

Ann :))

Ann! I feel guilty now, but HOW did you forget??

I was rather out of touch as I hadn't done much snapping recently and yesterday was all fields of grass (with lambs) or other crops, such as the tiny tractor image that's doing well here on Juza.

Admittedly, I did zoom the Tokina right in to almost its max, as the flowers are only half peak, I'd say. That's why I had to stop down quite a bit and the breeze required a faster shutter than I'd usually use (1/30 had front flowers blurred). The night shots mentioned elsewhere using the BeFree hopefully will get an airing here, as I made full attempts at getting the best I could. But trying to focus in near darkness, wrestle with a tempremental ball/socket head (which I dislike at the best of times) on a flooded/muddy track was never going to be much fun... and actually the clouds began to make some really great patterns.

That actual field is great as it has that big natural bank that helps hold the composition in and I got a similar shot with golden corn instead of rapeseed a good few years ago. So, I did get some useful shots but like a typical combined walk/shoot, you have to adapt to what the weather and conditions and subjects demand.
