red necked falcon(falco chicquera) un bellissimo e poco comune rapace che per la prima volta ho incontrato nel kgalagadi.si tratta di un falco che come dimensioni è simile al lodolaio.si apposta vicino all'acqua per ghermire gli uccelli che vengono per dissetarsi.solo occasionalmente cattura rettili e roditori.le sue prede tipiche sono uccelli,pipistrelli e grossi insetti volanti.esattamente com il lodolaio che però predilige attacchi dall'alto in velocità mentre il red necked è uno sprinter ed attacca dall'albero.kgalagadi n.p. sudafrica,scatto dall'auto
