Live at Pompeii Underground sent on January 15, 2017 (11:25) by Alfredo Contaldo. 19 comments, 424 views. [retina]

Alfredo Bravo.
Of course, the good fortune to be there, to live a moment that, for better or worse will be consigned to history, but without commitment and passion, you would not go anywhere.
Alfredo Bravo.

Thanks Paul. It was a fortune to follow every moment of the four days of filming. Play frisby with David Gilmour in a break during the recordings, share my snack (sandwich with sausage and broccoli) with Nick Mason at the end he made me discover that beyond the rock stars there were four little guys bigger than me.

I was not even born, so I would not have been of the group, but envy, so much remains. That must have been creepy, considering that the film is, enhanced by one of the best songs of Pink Floyd album in which all is Meddle (personal opinion, of course).

The film is different from filming. With the film we see the final cut. In Reality Floyd who they were maniacs of perfection and interrupted constantly running to listen through headphones the part just performed. So there was an alternation between music and silence. The pieces were fragmented and only at the end of the day you could hear almost entirely. But the location, the live, the natural reverberation of the Amphitheatre and the close encounter have made only one experience, which was not limited to simple ready-concert.

Dear Alfredo,
beautiful image and beautiful legend that tells of a truly unique experience!
I would have also loved seeing this show in the amphitheater of Pompeii!
Who knows that it can not make us a "jump" before closing ...!
Congratulations and greetings,
Paul

PS: The DVD of the film, of course, is part of my video library ...! :-)

And it is a story still in progress which is having unexpected developments, but for luck I do not want to anticipate anything.
Hello, thank you for your visit.

@Vittorio: what you see is the final part of the ambulatory left (underground corridor) Amphitheater of Pompeii last summer, in collaboration with director Adrian Maben, I organized an exhibition on Pink Floyd. The success of this event it did extend until next summer. If you happen around here come to see it, there's a lot of photography, analogue of 1971 and of course, let me know, I can be your guide.

That story, creepy! I have seen and reviewed several times. I knew a different story, which had to be opened and last not have given the practicability. Thanks for the info, however they have always been famous for not appreciate the noisy public, in contrast to their intimate and reflective music .... you also witnessed the piece with dogs: -o ?? I was shocked that, a truly spiritual moment, among the absolute top of the history of music, for me. Roger has instead the reputation of being a bit 'grumpy but ... you have my admiration and, above all, envy .....

@Mattew: The director would have never had permission to shoot if the film had been planned with the public. The Superintendent would never have allowed. And another reason was that the real interest of Adrian Maben was the relationship between the excavations with rock band at the time was at the forefront for sound experimentation. A report in short, between archeology and eschatology.
