at 140mm, 1/800 f/5.6, ISO 320, hand held.

...AND the refinery! I wouldn't even think of shooting at maximum aperture in the daylight but this was a genuine grabbed shot whilst I was walking along and eating a packet of sandwiches at the same time (my style of fine dining!). Despite being at maximum zoom it came out very well indeed. (a little added sharpening to combat the distant haze)

Well grabbed! A lovely injection of colour from the sail! The refinery itself makes an interesting outline against the sky but the sail lifts the image to another level.

Ann, I always find Fawley refinery fascinating - so close when you sail past it on the IOW ferry and here at Hamble, it's on the opposite bank. I always like contrasts in the environment, especially man vs nature. Next project is to get something similar at dusk/night. There are a couple of others with Fawley at night in this gallery but from much further away.
