Avevo già pubblicato un fotografia con gli stessi soggetti in un'altra Galleria e visto che codesta immagine era molto simile avevo pensato che sarebbe rimasta in archivio... da utilizzare da qualche altra parte... come tante altre immagini che scatto e poi vengono "messe via" in attesa di collocazione... Poi... mi sono detto che forse in bianco e nero... dati i soggetti ritratti... poteva dare l'impressione di essere quasi veramente una foto d'epoca e così ho provato la trasformazione... che mi è piaciuta e la ho postata in questa galleria... Come anche succedeva in passato, all'epoca della pellicola, a volte la trasformazione di una fotografia nata a Colori in un'immagine in Bianco e Nero non rende come vorrei vedere io e per questo abbandono l'idea... Questo perché... se non emergono i giusti contrasti... l'immagine non attira l'attenzione e da bella diventa quasi banale anche con soggetti interessanti... Quando si lavorava in Bianco e Nero si apponevano i giusti filtri dinnanzi agli obiettivi poi in fase di stampa si poteva scegliere tra diverse gradazioni, superfici e grammatura di carta per avere diversi tipi di contrasto... tutte cose queste che non esistono più e sostituite da dei paliativi contenuti nei moderni programmi di elaborazione ma spesso non si hanno i risultati che si avevano in passato con filtri e carte diverse... In passato esisteva anche un'apposita carta, prodotta dalla Kodak, per stampare in Bianco e Nero da negativo a colori ma i risultati che si ottenevano non sempre erano pienamente soddisfacenti specialmente riguardo al contrasto. Per questo motivo tante fotografie pubblicate, specialmente sui quotidiani e non solo, sono insignificanti... perché scattate a colori e poi per motivi di costi vengono pubblicate in Bianco e Nero... anche se oramai una buona parte di queste pubblicazioni viene stampata tutta o quasi a colori...

E tutto il Bianco e Nero lo "facevo in casa" ad eccezione del 4"x5" dove in casa sviluppavo le lastre ma poi andavo da un anziano fotografo (che all'inizio fu uno dei miei preziosi maestri) a stampare perché il mio ingranditore arrivava "solo" al formato 6x9.
