Il nuovo Scalone ottocentesco celebra la dinastia in occasione dell'ascesa al trono d'Italia di Vittorio Emanuele II, compiutosi nel 1861 il processo di unificazione. Percorrendo la scala ornata da candelieri in bronzo e dalla balaustra in marmo con i grandi vasi, si giunge ad un livello intermedio dominato dalla statua di Emanuele Filiberto, fronteggiata da quella del re Carlo Alberto, padre di Vittorio Emanuele II. La volta affrescata da Paolo Emilio Morgari mostra l'Apoteosi di Carlo Alberto confrontato con Emanuele Filiberto. Sulle pareti quattro dipinti raccontano episodi rilevanti per la casata: salendo, sulla destra, Il matrimonio di Oddone con Adelaide, Contessa di Torino di Gaetano Ferri e Tommaso I nell'atto di dare la libertà ad alcune città del suo Stato di Andrea Gastaldi; sulla sinistra, Carlo Emanuele I che intima guerra alla Spagna di Enrico Gamba e Torquato Tasso alla Corte di Savoia di Giuseppe Bertini. Nel 1997 lo Scalone subì gravi danni per l'incendio alla vicina Cappella della Sindone, soprattutto a causa della grande quantità d'acqua utilizzata per lo spegnimento delle fiamme.
