É difficile descrivere quello che ho vissuto in tre giorni alle miniere di Kawa Ijen. Difficile immaginare un lavoro più massacrante di quello che i raccoglitori di zolfo svolgono quotidianamente. Impossibile dimenticare la loro fatica, le loro ciglia bianche di polvere, le loro spalle livide, la loro allegria nonostante ciò che vivono. Tra questa gente ho trovato un umanità fuori dal comune, che purtroppo difficilmente e traducibile a parole, ma che mi ha segnato profondamente.
