The Sea ...... sent on July 24, 2016 (0:03) by AnnH. 30 comments, 1231 views. [retina]

at 10mm, 1/2 f/22.0, ISO 100, tripod.

I used a polariser, a small aperture and a tripod. I really must buy some other filters! I added a graduated filter in post processing. Ho usato un polarizzatore , una piccola apertura e un treppiede . Devo proprio comprare alcuni altri filtri ! Ho aggiunto un filtro graduato in post processing. #sea #seascape Tutte le foto contenute in queste gallerie sono copyright AnnH e non possono essere utilizzate in alcuna forma senza il consenso dell'autore.

Beautifully done, Ann. I sense a graduated grey sky?

I don't recognise this piece of coastline?

Thanks very much, Claudio! Taken this evening, after most other people had gone home!

Many thanks, Fonzie - I had so many images to choose from after this evening's trip to the sea! There may well be one or two more posted over the coming days!

Thanks very much, Tim! Graduated filter added in post processing - still haven't bought one! This is Kimmeridge. I went on the spur of the moment this evening. It's nearer than I thought - just a 30 minute drive (or it would have been, if I hadn't kept stopping to take photos!). I'd hoped for low tide because the rocks are gorgeous but hadn't checked - I knew it would be lovely there anyway!

Ann :))

Lucky you! I've been nursing my many a blistered feet after yesterday's trek.

I did think of you yesterday as I used a much less vicious than my usual grad grey on the inkblot image but then had to resort to the heavier one as the sun later broke over a barley field (not yet edited). Thinking of you as in now I have had my 'system' for a while now, had to replace all the original expensive filters and have now found reasonably priced replacements, to be purchased as and when needed. My CS5 Photoshop doesn't have such a preset (it's probably been updated and added now in the latest) but of course, if the original image is corrected then all the information is in the RAW file. Let me know if and when you want to take the plunge.

I really must go to Kimmeridge more often. The slightly off-putting aspect is the unavoidable £5 parking fee, if I go during the daytime.

I do need to take the plunge sometime but I tend to take an age making up my mind exactly what I want! The graduated and radial filters I use are in Lightroom - most useful!

I'll email you at some point about my purchase and experience with the blessed things - for you to make up your own mind about - but I especially have had to combine results with as low a cost as possible. Not too many hobbyist photographers go down this route and many who do have deep pockets.

I'll "allow" you to buy me a coffee next time we meet for such invaluable experience and advice lol....

Lol! Thanks! I'd suggest a trip to Kimmeridge, if you could get somewhere close enough for me to give you a lift the rest of the way, but I don't think there's anywhere there to buy coffee! :)

There's time and places galore to go to and explore, Ann, including the coast, so no hurry.

I'll write my advice tonight - you can follow it or not but the truth and the experience is that you don't need to buy the most expensive and some facts they don't tell you about! Read it in the morning, so goodnight!

Thanks very much, Salvo! It's a part of the very varied coastline in this area that I love!
