Nono centenario del comune di Bologna: è quello che si legge sul festone rosso appeso all'inizio della strada in prospettiva (Via Indipendenza). La vista è da una finestra del Palazzo d'Accursio, sul retro della piazza del Nettuno, con la fontana attualmente coperto per restauri (non visibile). Il comune di Bologna nasce tra i primi in Italia e nel duecento decise di comperare le numerose case medioevali che riempivano il luogo per abbatterle e realizzare la piazza Maggiore, contemporaneamente alla costruzione delle nuove mure di cinta della città.
