La sala, molto danneggiata sia per quanto riguarda la volta che le pareti, presenta l'originale pavimento ligneo. Questo tipo di pavimentazione interessava praticamente tutte le altre superfici del secondo piano. Come per le altre residenze sabaude anche Rivoli possiede un salotto cinese, progettato nel 1793 da Carlo Randoni, che ne aveva anche previsto i mobili, come si vede in un disegno conservato presso l'Archivio di Stato di Torino. L'ambiente fa da raccordo tra l'appartamento della Duchessa d'Aosta e quello del Principe di Piemonte e presenta una decorazione interamente "alla Chinese". Le pitture della volta e le parti lignee sono di Francesco Rebaudengo, imitanti un padiglione, con sulla volta un telo aperto verso il cielo dove volano dei dragoni. Ai lati scene di vita cinese, riprese dalle carte da parati del Castello di Racconigi, dove il pittore operò nelle sale cinesi dei principi di Carignano. Anche se non in ottimo stato sono interessanti i dipinti della volta che consiglio di visionare in hd.
