kite at sunset sent on March 08, 2016 (20:42) by Lambros. 20 comments, 1234 views. [retina]

at 340mm, 1/2000 f/7.1, ISO 800, tripod. Specie: Milvus milvus

Beautiful light that highlights the spectacular plumage of the Red Kite. I agree in a bit lighter on the shot, very good

Thanks Alago, Louis, Henry, Gaetano, Luigi, Giobatta and Marco.
I'll try to lighten as recommended. The trouble with this picture, bearing in mind the original, is that every time I touch the rest undecided outcome. I use it just me sliders of my iPhoto, I should make up my mind to work on a good program.

The strengths of this shot, in addition to your skill to "let you go" very close, I think are essentially the head with a look, very well focheggiati and intense. ;-)

Thanks Massimo and Enzo.
Thanks Antonio, of course I was well hidden. But you know that the kite still sees you, even if you think you are invisible. He always controls everything and can perceive from a distance look where our eyes, the front of the lens sees, but it is curious sometimes grants.

It was true, he sees you but it is very curious at times I came on so much that with the 300 + 1.4 I did not enter the viewfinder of SLR, there I regret one :-( zoom

Antonio, I have seen your photos of kites and I know that you know them well. It 's true, it happens. If it is above so it is because you have somehow accepted, and therefore can not be invasive.

Thanks Valerio. They are smart, then the real is more rare, but you can do. You need a little 'understand the areas that they frequent and their habits. And hide well (in some areas are also more confident in my, and photograph them in itinerant hunting). I prefer to wait for the sunset, it must also be a beautiful day, with low light that illuminates their plumage. If the day is cloudy, however, they have pain ...
