Il Laghetto Motta d'Oro è poco più che una pozza d'acqua (meno di 1.000 mq. di superficie) posto in mezzo ad un bosco nel Parco Regionale del Campo dei Fiori nelle vicinanze di Varese. Al di là di essere un luogo dove regna una pace quasi assoluta (è abbastanza fuori dal passaggio dei sentieri più frequentati), è tenuto in grande considerazione perché è un luogo prediletto da rane e rospi per la riproduzione e, quindi, è area protetta.

You can reach or Morselli Park in Gavirate (always going up and keeping to the right where there are no signs) or from Chignolo (above Comerio) taking the path 11 and, then, the detour that leads to the pond (this road is flat except for the climb in Chignolo that, though, I think you can do by car).
