Taken this morning. Closest focus at 200mm, about 1/3rd life size - hardly 'macro' but useful extra feature with my f2.8 Sigma 70-200mm HSM Apo. |

I don't suppose you have any tips on photographing newborn babies? I've done some googling but you know the lenses I have, so I thought you just might have some words of wisdom. No worries if you're pressed for time or have no particular thoughts...... I'm about to be a nana for the second time :) |

Ann - congratulations! Your Sigma macro 105mm is ideal for portraits at a distance, or for ones set up, or have time to compose and in lower natural light. Otherwise the 55-200mm should be great for general shots, small and light and able to frame as you wish. Spontaneity is important - don't ever use flash, it can hurt their delicate eyes. If the babe is close to you then the 35mm f1.8 could be ideal. Bottom line, use whatever you feel comes naturally and gives you the results you like best. |
