Very beautiful - love this!

Going back to a couple of points you raised and in reference to an image on here you haven't yet commented on, having a very fast lens isn't just to control depth of field but is primarily to enable handheld photography in dark and low light. The cloisters (which will go up on here later this morning) I could have just bumped up the iso and smaller aperture. But I knew that I'd be extracting shadow detail out of nothing and that always increases noise, so by using f2 I was able to keep the iso down to 1250, VERY low for such a low light shot.

Thanks very much, Tim!

I understood about the need for a wide aperture to allow for the maximum amount of light but was getting confused about depth of field, forgetting that you can still choose the focal point.
