, 1/100 f/14.0, ISO 500, hand held.

Coldest temperatures this winter across the whole of the UK this morning - and rare combination of bright dawn sunshine and about minus 5 Celsius (rare for south of England!) made getting as many photos as I could a must! Ice crystals on wood.

Looks a little frosty Tim.The clear, crisp days are a blessing though?Better than the grey depressing ones we have had for so long.Cool

Like it! Lovely tiny shards of ice!

Frostier frost than here, I think! I only had -2 to photograph! Gorgeous sunrise, though!

Has this been heavily cropped? It must have needed a steady hand!

Thank you Ann. I guessed at the temperature. It could have been as warm as minus 2, (!!) I had no means of measuring.

Why would you think this was cropped Ann? It wasn't and that's the idea of having and using the optical stabiliser. Did you check which lens I'd used?

avatarsupporter

I did check which lens you'd used but wasn't sure I'd be able to get in this close and be focussed, especially hand held. Lack of experience.....

You can get in MUCH closer than this Ann!! I guess this quarter life size? Lens goes to life size. I know, I tried, I might even post one though the technical aspects were even more challenging! Don't forget, that the light was very plentiful, with a bright subject.

I also just posted a more normal river sunrise, not dissimilar to what you've done in the past, from this morning.
