IF you think that this weather looks rough and dramatic, then imagine just what it is was like in the opposite direction, just minutes before... (that's another Juza entry, at a later date) but yes, I did get wet! THANKS SO much for both the black and white predecessor being so high in the Most Popular, but especially for liking my London 'String Of Pearls' so much, that it's been at the top spot all day! #Rainbow

Wow! Well done, you! :) I'm thrilled for you, Tim!

This image is also gorgeous! Worth getting soaked for (just as long as your camera equipment is alright..... :))

Thank you so much Ann!

I did feel that the inhabitants of the big posh house might be peering out with binoculars at the idiot getting wet for no reason in their front paddock! ( didn't get wet, due to suitable clothing - I'm no idiot!) My D7000 is shower resistant and copes quite well, but lenses required continual cleaning with the cloth - here I was alternating with the only other I took - the 10-24mm.

I don't know if you've googled this place but if you did you will find that the house is no longer open to the public (I did go inside with Des many years ago) but the parkland is publicly accessible, though I think you should stick to footpaths - which I definitely wasn't doing! But the park has some very nice oak trees and so I had them as silhouettes for the even more dramatic against the weather shots.

Lol! I'm sure they would have been thinking a few thoughts..... :))

No, I haven't googled it - it looks very familiar but I think it must just resemble another National Trust property I have visited.

It sounds like you had a great day out! Photographically, at least!

Beautiful picture hello

Especially if I had been struck by lightning!

Yes, these posh places all look the same.,...

It actually got better, Ann, my next location (buses are two to three hours apart, but only four per day!) so after Dinton, got next bus to a few villages along... spent two hours there (minus the hour walking back and fore to final location) and then got last bus of day back home. Considering that's just 16.30, you can see why only in winter are these places made the more interesting by being near sunset and dusk. I was frankly spellbound by what I was given in the form of light.

(Or were you referring to me being struck by lightning....?!)
