Actually taken at sunrise on New Year's Eve (yesterday) at the start of my day out at the seaside, here at Boscombe Pier. It's only in middle of the winter that the first bus gets me down there in time, if the traffic is light! I wanted to portray this lone photographer in the midst of a large, yet beautiful landscape (seascape) to signify how we are so small in Mother Nature's bountiful gifts and how very lucky we are to be able to use our passion/hobby or living capturing such and through the wonders of the internet, share amongst others, whoever and wherever they are. I did have closer zoomed in shots but I preferred this is very wide view, almost all the frame. There are also birds flying in the sky - they're not specks of dust! May your photographs in 2016 be big and bold and beautiful!! |

Thank you so much Arvina - I had wonderful day out yesterday, it made up for a disappointing Christmas - so many possible photos and the sea is so invigorating to be alongside at this time of the year. I hope you have a great day too! |

Ah, yes - you saw rather more colour in the sunrise than I did! Lovely to see the colour reflecting on the wet sand as the waves recede - it's as if you are being pulled in towards the sunrise. I also like the inclusion of the lone photographer - emphasizing how very small we all are! |

I don't know if you read my text Ann, but the small snapper in the large environment was what I wanted to portray. I spent perhaps 20 minutes editing this - lots to balance up, despite a medium heavy graduated grey. I went on to get even more dramatic ones of the sun behind the pier and long telephoto ones of the sun from this viewpoint, but for today, I just had to have my solitary fellow lensman, didn't I? It was then confronting the incoming storm down at Sandbanks - yet more dramatic 10mm shots! |

Excellent clarity Tim, it's what I call a living still shot which evokes a sense of being there for the viewer, congrats Brian |
