Roll on Christmas and when you get your macro lens, Ann! Without wanting to be sounding harsh, though I like the angle and viewpoint, and background, it's just too full of compromises. Resulting in even the shallow (ish) depth of field (yes, I know you still used quite a small aperture) still being slightly soft. Handholding, even with VR would have been a real challenge at this shutter speed and this magnification. The combination of a really very slow lens of huge complex design and a large segment of extension tube can hardly be the best either. It's a nice image but could be so much better with the right gear - I think that's as best as I can put it. |
