On a disused railway track that has been pulled up and turned into a road but now is a cycle path. I hope this old man realises that the last train has long departed? #BlackAndWhite

I was shooting this old wooden pylon that they had in the old days of railways just as it was lying there and the old man with his dog walked up and sat down on the side, as you see him. I had to include him in my picture! I wanted a picture showing past times and melancholy whilst also producing a strong black and white image full of texture and dynamism.

Thank you Joe, it was made difficult with my shadow always being in the shots and I didn't want him to think I was taking a photo of him.

A very significant and impressive shot. Very true your words about the contrast between melancholy and dynamism.

Brilliantly composed shot, Tim! I love the quirky angle and the elderly gent is so perfectly positioned. Being presented in black and white really accentuates the textures, too. Nice work! :)

Quirky angle, Ann? No this is Ringwood as it really is! Many thanks and for fully appreciating all the points I intended, not sure everybody did but that's the way things go.
