Hurst Castle and Lighthouse...

Hurst Spit, Castle & Lighthouse

at 500mm, 1/1250 f/8.0, ISO 250, Hurst Castle and Lighthouse, United Kingdom.

With monopod. The 750mm equivalent focal length has really brought the cliffs of the Isle of Wight, several miles over the straight and behind the castle and lighthouse, forward. The flock of birds really made this one for me and why I went black and white - and why should have I done that, it was perfect summer's blue day, after all? I wanted to enter this under 'landscape' but I've had such with a prominent building moved by the Juza adjudicator to 'urban' before and this is definitely not an urban scene! #BlackAndWhite #Seascape

I don't know is it possible but did you think that you could bring up the birds a little more. Add "whites" maybe...
For me, a little dramatic scene now even there is beautiful light to the buildings. The birds makes the shot.

A couple of my pictures have also been moved... illogically. This one was in "wildlife" and it was moved to "macro and flora". To me this not a "macro" and certainly not "flora". MrGreenSorriso

Thank you for all that - the black and white conversion really brought up the contrast but I think I wanted to still retain detail in the cliffs behind. Fair comment though...

I looked at your link and agreed with you - except, are insecty creatures like this wildlife, in the usual sense? So, I can understand your viewpoint but also which category could it actually fir into? It needs its own!

And thank you Stefano. That's the beauty of black and white, in colour this was quite ordinary, albeit a rather nice 'ordinary'!
