La fornace Boschetto, risalente alla fine dell'800, è stata presumibilmente in funzione fino agli inizi degli anni 2000, come testimonia la pubblicazione “Studi di cultura materiale del museo civico polironiano”. La fornace era attiva da maggio a settembre e le principali fasi di lavorazione erano l'impasto della malta, la formatura con gli stampi, l'essicazione dei pezzi ed infine la cottura; i mesi invernali erano dedicati all'approvvigionamento dell'argilla ed alla preparazione della stessa. Alle fasi di formatura ed essiccazione partecipavano donne e bambini, i laterizi rimanevano sotto il sole più giorni, a secondo dello spessore, e poi venivano accatastati al coperto in attesa di raggiungere il numero sufficiente per l'infornata. Nella camera di cottura della fornace venivano accatastati in maniera opportuna alcune decine di migliaia di pezzi, poi veniva acceso il forno utilizzando legname di grossa taglia. La cottura durava circa tre giorni durante i quali il “fornasaro” metteva in campo tutta la propria esperienza nel controllo del fuoco e per la buona riuscita dei manufatti. Abbandonata la propria destinazione d'uso la Ex Fornace è stata utilizzata come abitazione e cascina per l'attività agricola fino al sisma del 2012 che ha provocato il crollo di parte della ciminiera e danneggiato il tetto rendendo la struttura inagibile.
