Very fascinating and evocative environmental situation, embellished by the presence of the swan, which acts as a catalyzing element! To give it more "weight" I suggest you try to crop (maintaining the proportions of the original format) by drawing a rectangle that starts from the bottom left vertex and arrives shortly after the last sprig in the water on the right, in order to limit the large portion of the frame without details on the right... ;-)

Grazie anche a voi per l'apprezzamento!

Alberto Dall'oglio

Non so quanto tu possa condividere...

Attilio

Hi Attilio, thank you for the comparison: I imagined your choice of space on the right... The image, however, can be read from left to right, because we are used to the convention of writing (at least here in the West): in that case you could mirror it! ;-) For the rest, I believe that the fog is unquestionably the protagonist because it permeates the whole scene making the contours soft and blurred. Just for the sake of completeness, I leave you below my proposal (which is just an exchange of opinions, I don't want to convince anyone ;-) ):

I imagined a cut that would eliminate almost all the empty space
No, Attilio, it was just to give you a reference; You always need a little space because it's not nice to have the elements of the image stuck to the edges.
For the rest, I agree on the clear elements that attract the most attention; on the direction of the reading, I believe that the vision (which has its own innate "rules") is also influenced by cultural aspects, related to training received and habits: in our case it is likely that most people read from left to right out of a simple habit.
Thank you for accepting the comparison, very interesting, and again congratulations for this beautiful image.
