The Great Orion Nebula sent on November 06, 2024 (19:12) by Mcastro. 3 comments, 156 views. [retina]

I like this somewhat particular composition, but as you rightly said it allows you to enter the nebula. It seems to me that in general the image is a bit soft, I don't see much sharpness on the nebula that I would expect to be more defined given its brightness.

hello Gianluca, it's soft yes but it comes out like this. I don't know if it depends on the fact that I shoot it from 15 to 35 degrees high because then there is the wall of the balcony (but I don't think so) but its internal nebulosities actually give that feeling of almost blurred.
I did it 3 more times and going to check the photos also born from apo quintuplets (therefore with lenses that give more contrast) and we are there.
The big difference in past photos was made by hydrogen which, in fact, gives detail to the structures creating contrast but in this photo it is not there.

You're right you know, in fact I also checked mine and they give the same effect without the help of hydrogen, I had never done it by chance.
