Io e il mio amico Giovanni ci abbiamo messo ben cinque ore per salire e scendere dal Rifugio Sapienza fino ai Crateri Barbagallo a 2900m sul livello del mare, facendo qualche sosta per bere ma soprattutto per goderci la bellezza prima della Valle del Bove e poi dei Crateri in cima. Un'esperienza unica nella vita che ti riempie gli occhi e ti ripaga della fatica fatta; noi non abbiamo preso la funivia e nemmeno i bus 4x4 per goderci al massimo tutto il percorso. La sabbia nera, le pietre laviche luccicanti argento, i crateri, i paesaggi altissimi a strapiombo, il vento che soffia e ti vuole strappare dalla terra e il sole che riesci a guardare da sopra le nuvole. Per la prima volta in vita mia non ho portato con me la fotocamera.. a malincuore ho preferito salire leggero, nello zaino solo abbigliamento a strati e acqua; ho scattato con l'iPhone. Spero che queste umili foto possano rendere almeno una minima idea di quanta bellezza ci sia sul vulcano attivo più alto d'Europa.
