Japto - Wodaabe people at sunset (Chad). The Japto Wodaabe, also known as Djapto, are a subgroup of the Wodaabe people who primarily inhabit the Sahel region of Chad, as well as parts of Niger and Nigeria. The Wodaabe people are a subgroup of the larger Fulani ethnic group, known for their pastoral and nomadic way of life. Like other Wodaabe groups, the Japto Wodaabe are traditionally nomadic cattle herders. They move with their herds of cattle, goats, and camels in search of grazing lands and water sources. This lifestyle is essential to their survival in the arid Sahel region. Like the Sudosukai Wodaabe people, Japto people celebrate the Gerewol festival, an annual courtship ritual competition mainly among the nomad people of Niger and Chad. This is a beauty pageant for the young men so that they might be selected by the girls of the tribe. The Japto, like many pastoralist communities, face various challenges in the modern world. These include land encroachment, climate change, and competition for water resources. NFT: https://linktr.ee/roberto_pazzi IG: https://www.instagram.com/roberto_pazzi_photo

Misery that click. Beyond the photographic technique (excellent the idea of the silhouette given the splendid light), I find the moment caught spectacular. Bravo indeed!
