"Al termine del Parco della Rimembranza, poco prima del Piazzale in cima al Colle di San Giusto, si trova la grande statua in onore dei caduti nella Prima Guerra Mondiale. Inaugurata nel 1935 alla presenza dello stesso Re Vittorio Emanuele III e di diversi gerarchi fascisti, il monumento fu progettato dallo scultore triestino Attilio Selva mentre Enrico del Nebbio, architetto già del celebre Foro Italico e del Palazzo della Farnesina, realizzò la base marmorea."
