Intermediate vault of Castel dell'Ovo - Naples - sent on April 04, 2023 (11:58) by Lino Freelance. 26 comments, 819 views. [retina]

, 1/60 f/5.6, ISO 400, hand held. Napoli, Italy.

Coffee break for me 8-) well found Carlo, thanks for the long and harmonious illustration that, under your license, I make mine and I attach it virtually to the disascalia ;-)
Perhaps, it is precisely on the basis of some theories, that many works defy the centuries ...
and then modern structures, which do not even exceed 24 months of life ... see some bridges recently built in Italy!!! (Beyond the sand used in the dough instead of cement etc etc).
Thanks again, but having taken them really in speed, I think the merit here, goes all to the Tmax ;-)
Good afternoon to you

Hello Fabio and thank you, always generous your tribute to my snapshots ;-)
Just about that plain, close to Christmas, was broadcast on the well-known scientific TV, a documentary that dedicated a good part to the story you mentioned, too bad I saw, I think, only the end ... I will wait for some reply.
What struck me, the story of the meticulous measurement of the points of some structures, so precise, that compared to today, only a laser / digital instrumentation would be needed :-o
The question, at this point, arises: but wouldn't it be better to regress than to chase progress? :-P

Dear Lino, if you feel like it and have time I recommend reading "Guardian of Genesis" by Robert Bauval and for an even more general vision "The Egyptian Codex" by the same author. In addition to the measurements you mentioned, there is a meticulous study of the myths and the necessary archaeoastronomical intrepretation of the whole complex. In the past I had presented my photos with the explanation of the "theory of the correlation of Orion", starting from the explanation of the motion of a spinning top, preparatory to understand the precession of the equinoxes. Then I deleted that series because it hadn't generated any particular interest.

Fabio thanks, if you suggest them, it means that I can definitely expand my "little backpack" of culture, it will open other horizons and "points of view" ;-) If they are online, I order them immediately...
Too bad for your work that you deleted, interests vary, but culture, should always arouse at least curiosity ... ;-)
