PIMENTA DA NEYDE. Un incrocio di Capsicum chinense con Capsicum annuum. Frutti di colore viola dalle foglie scure e fiori di colore bianco con macchie viola. La pianta può superare abbondantemente il metro di altezza, anche in vaso ed è molto robusta e resistente. Proviene dal Brasile e deve il nome a Hidalgo da Neyde, la donna che lo ha che lo ha scoperto. Varietà gustosissima ed estremamente piccante, muta il colore violaceo in nero marcato quando maturo. I frutti, che misurano dai 2 ai 5 cm, non somigliano molto al chinense, ma ne ricordano il gusto.
