L'Erebia pandrose è una farfalla che vive in ambiente montano dai 2000 m di altitudine ai 2700 m. Il ciclo di vita (dalla deposizione dell'uovo allo sfarfallamento) dura due anni. Questo individuo è stato ripreso in Dolomiti a 2400 m.

Ciao Stafanovet, hai ragione nel dire che molte foto di farfalle sono determinate male ... vorrei però spezzare una lancia a favore delle persone che determinano le specie, in quanto gli individui di qualche famiglia sono ostici da determinare ... ti confesso che anch'io ho grossissime difficoltà sia con le erebie che con una parte delle Polyommatine ali azzurre in quanto alcune specie sono molto simili oltre ad avere una grande variabilità cromatica tra gli individui della stessa specie. Non mi dilungo sui Pyrgus in quanto li trovo indecifrabili. Con l'erebia pandrose ho vinto facile in quanto la forma della macchia rossa e gli ocelli neri non pupillati sono caratteristiche che la fanno identificare abbastanza facilmente.
Sono contento che ci sia una popolazione anche sui Monti della Laga ... è sempre interessante avere notizie di specie "montane" che pur in popolazioni isolate hanno saputo resistere nei millenni al mutare del clima ...
