Castello di Montalto Dora ripreso dal promontorio dell'hotel Castello San Giuseppe. Focale 185mm ---- Il castello è privato, ma aperto per diverse iniziative. Per chi volesse visitarlo, o conoscere i cenni storici, inserisco il link del sito in un commento. Per gli appassionati delle "stranezze", segnalo anche il "bosco ballerino" che si trova a poche centinaia di metri dal castello. Di scarso interesse fotografico, ma sicuramente suggestivo, perché situato su un lago sotterraneo. Le radici degli alberi hanno formato sulla torba una sorta di tappeto elastico, per cui saltando sul terreno, esso si muove creando onde di propagazione che fanno oscillare gli alberi circostanti.

Il luogo ha un suo fascino naturale per la presenza di alte colline rocciose contigue, e numerosi laghi di origine glaciale. Il castello, edificato nel dodicesimo secolo, ben si inserisce in un contesto rurale di terrazzamenti a vigneto collegati da mulattiere di epoca romana. Sicuramente un luogo dal fascino medievale e un po' Kurosawiano ;-)
