at 45mm, 1/125 f/6.3, ISO 100, hand held. Warsaw, Poland.

It may not be a chocolate egg, but it is almost three meters long, over two meters high, weighs 2 tons and from inside you can hear a real heartbeat, chirping and beak knocking on the shell... The egg, a work of Polish artist Joanna Rajkowska, is an acrylic plaster model of a song thrush egg. If we hug it, put our head next to it, thanks to a special installation inside the egg we will hear the recorded real sounds of the bird hatching, and the entire egg vibrates because it acts as a membrane allowing us to listen and feel the vibrations of sound waves. The artist "laid" a similar egg earlier. The installation was created as part of Frieze Sculpture 2019. Rajkowska showed her sound sculpture in London's Regents Park. It was a blackbird egg. It may not be a Faberge egg, although the cost of the installation is a quarter of a million zlotys, or about 58,500.00 euros, but it is certainly a wonderful symbol of new, awakening life...
