Desideravo realizzare questa foto da molti mesi, quando ho scoperto sui social questo bellissimo castello. Ho viaggiato di notte per quasi 5 ore, pensando di abbinarci qualche altro posto come Pentedattilo e Reggio Calabria. Per riprendere il castello di Santo Niceto con vista sull'Etna, bisogna salire sulle montagne di Motta San Giovanni. Sono arrivato verso le 8.30 su una strada quasi impraticabile, dove vivono solo alcuni pastori muniti di 4X4. Pur avendo un'auto nuova di zecca, mi sono avventurato ugualmente senza pensare ai danni che potesse subire. La strada era poco più di 2 metri e la vegetazione restringeva la corsia ancora di più. Di solito è una strada che si fa a piedi, infatti ho incontrato qualcuno che andava al castello facendo trekking... Ho scattato intorno alle 9.00 ma dalla luce sembrava quasi mezzogiorno. Lo spettacolo è unico! Si vede lo Stretto, l'Etna e, alle pendici, Castelmola, Taormina e Letojanni.
