Sometimes it was a problem of the D700 especially in JPGs (insufficient color encoding and depth, or bad algorithm for handling the same between RAW and JPG)... but this photo was smooth as oil, treated with ON1 Nonoise 24 which does a great job... Loaded here, a disaster!! I had to cancel it in a hurry and then put some noise in the blue channel, which counteracts the phenomenon in a big way. Unfortunately there is some visible noise, but the bands are less visible.

Porca miseria, comparivano bande pazzesche... a volte era un problema proprio della d700 specie nei jpg (codifica e profondità del colore insufficienti, o cattivo algoritmo di gestione del medesimo fra raw e jpg)... ma questa foto era liscia come l'olio, trattata con ON1 Nonoise 24 che fa un ottimo lavoro... caricata qui, un disastro!! Ho dovuto cancellarla di corsa e poi mettere un po' di rumore nel canale del blu, che contrasta alla grande il fenomeno. Purtroppo c'è un po' di rumore visibile, ma le bande si vedono meno.
