Absolute camouflage capability. I had to open it to locate it. Fantastic photo for colors, light, composition and of course for the subject shot. Absolutely interesting caption. Congratulations.

The fer de lance is one of the most venomous snakes in the world
Also called "Costa Rica's anti-personnel mine"...
Your photo is beautiful: incredible camouflage!

Not an easy shot to do at 200mm, even dangerous given the subject

Excellent for the subject and for the composition that "frames" the subject and at the same time shows its mimicry!

Congratulations on the photo. However, the information in the caption is incorrect. Mortality from ophidic poisoning in Costa Rica is relatively low, with an estimated 1-2 deaths each year. For example, a 2008 study showed 48 deaths between 1993 and 2006. In addition, Bothrops atrox is not present in Costa Rica, it is instead B. asper.
