Nei dintorni di Tignale (BS), su uno sperone di roccia del Monte Castello, sorge l'imponente Santuario di Montecastello (691 m). Viene anche chiamato Santuario Madonna della Stella grazie all'apparizione miracolosa di una stella che mise fine a una sanguinosa battaglia avvenuta in quei luoghi nel 1200. Al suo interno, oltre a meravigliosi affreschi di scuola Giottesca, si trova anche l'ex voto più grande d'Europa, risalente al 1600. A far concorrenza a questo incomparabile Santuario è il panorama a strapiombo sul Lago di Garda: in fronte a voi potrete scorgere la catena del Monte Baldo e arrivare con lo sguardo fino alla penisola di Sirmione.
