Gozzo to Marzamemi sent on October 02, 2023 (10:19) by Maxbottax. 71 comments, 1084 views. [retina]

at 68mm, 1/250 f/4.0, ISO 50000, hand held.

There comes a time when, after fighting it for years, you realize that, sometimes, noise can be a friend, or, at least, it doesn't hurt as much as you thought. Great atmosphere shot.

@ Claudio "Supercecc56" & Claudio "Ricci" :
I was thinking more or less the same thing this morning about "desaturation" in portraits.
In this case the "noise" of the 50,000 Iso :-o It is completely unwanted but made necessary by the imminent darkness and the lack of a tripod.
Thank you for your lovely foray.

Okay, that's okay, after all, it's an APS-C that is no longer even very recent, and it was asked for the maximum it could achieve. It should be the same sensor I have on the D5600, also from 2017. With machine sensors there are even 10-15, and even different manufacturers with the same sensors, I usually try not to let them exceed 6400 or 12800 in extreme cases - now the various software, from Raw, almost work miracles.
Greetings.
C.

Nice, the ISO a bit high, maybe an intervention with (neat image) solved the noise, but I respect your choice. Greetings from Franco

@ Claudio, Gion65 & Franco :
thank you for your interventions, advice and having appreciated it, more than a stylistic "choice" I would say a necessity.
