Uno scatto dello scorso Natale, a Roma. Gli passo accanto e rimango colpito dal contrasto dei colori: la chioma, folta e completamente canuta, l'incarnato scuro e il rosso acceso dei fiori. Tra un tiro di sigaretta e l'altro ripulisce il mazzo di rose dai petali più malconci, che ripone vicino a se, sullo scalino che gli fa da seduta. Faccio due passi indietro: “Posso?...” - indicando la macchina fotografica – fa un cenno col capo, click-click-click! Lo ringrazio per la disponibilità e gli allungo qualche moneta. Poi raccoglie meticolosamente tutti i petali dal gradino, si alza e si allontana in fretta col suo mazzo di rose. Non ho avuto la prontezza di chiedergli come si chiamasse ( "Stat rosa pristina nomine, nomina nuda tenemus" – per fortuna ci sono anche le foto - ancorchè modeste, ahimè).
